Die öffentliche Beta ist heute gestartet.

Prof. Manuel Castells, Professor at the University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles, the Open University of Catalonia at Barcelona, and key note speaker at the 15th German Trend Day states in his comment: “Networked individuals are the only basis for social change”.

“Social networking space is the new public space. … Networked individuals are the ONLY basis for social change in the network society.”

This reads harmless at first sight. However, it means that in his point of view waiting for substantial inputs from politics, and rethinking or “giving in” from businesses, elites and decision makers is pointless. People have to take networking and coordination in their own hands in order to achieve the change they want so see.

Today the term “globalization” has a bad taste for many, and describes an idea that is associated not only with positive images. On the other hand globalization is an irreversible fact.

• Our economy is globalized
• We see first signs of globalized politics
• We live in a globalized world – the biosphere
• But we have by no means globalized citizens

We know that almost everything we do has an effect on the world as a whole. Many questions related to our future can only be answered based on (increasing) global cooperation. The internet promises global real-time communication. This is what we want to support and substantiate with Globodynamics.

We are convinced that people will appreciate to join forces related to certain questions.

Today many topics exist that reach far or have a substantial impact on us. Topics that a lot of people are either concerned with or have interest for. For many of these themes no balance exists between the level of affection or extent to which people are touched by them and the possibility to become involved discussing them on eye level. People should be able to mirror these topics in terms of their opinion and communication about them as well as developing the potential to coordinate their actions dealing with them.
